RegDelta alert no 5: International Standards – June catch-up

JWG analysis.

June has been a busy month for all regulatory agencies, and the BCBS is no exception. With 3 consultations, 2 sets of principles and 1 regulatory consistency assessment as well as a 2013/14 annual report published in this month alone, we can see 5 years from the crisis that international standard setting is still very much in progress. See below for the complete set of documents originating from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and its partners this month:

  • 29 June 2014 – BIS 84th Annual Report (link)
  • 26 June 2014 – BCBS Principles for effective supervisory colleges (link)
  • 26 June 2014 – IOSCO Risk Identification and Assessment Methodologies for Securities Regulators
  • 24 June 2014 – BCBS Proposed revisions to Pillar 3 disclosure requirements published by the Basel Committee (link)
  • 18 June 2014 – BCBS Supervisory guidelines for identifying and dealing with weak banks – consultative report (link)
  • 13 June 2014 – BCBS Report assessing Canada’s implementation of the Basel capital framework (link)
  • 04 June 2014 – IOSCO Good Practices on Reducing Reliance on CRAs in asset management

We have loaded these documents into RegDelta, meaning that those with access to the tool can use our risk ontology to analyse the documents, and use the delta function to easily compare and contrast the document with key risk requirements from Basel III, CRD IV or other initiatives, in order to formulate consultation responses, review existing policy requirements or address differences in operational requirements.
