JWG shines a spotlight on FS digitization with the launch of RegCast

London – 2 February, 2021 – JWG, the trusted financial services regulatory intelligence company, today announces the launch of RegCast, a series of podcasts designed to contextualise the strategic issues in play, within the noisy, and digitizing financial services marketplace.

The first episode, 2021 Retail Madness, Digitized Markets and Future Regulatory Responses focuses on what GameStop means to both retail and wholesale financial services business strategies and regulatory agendas this year.  Experts discuss what was missed, what it means and what clients, businesses and Compliance officers should expect. They also share insights on changes at the FCA, BaFIN, ESMA and ASIC as  we emerge from COVID operating procedures and focus on issues like FireEye, cyber and operational resilience.

The RegCast series will be fast paced, key question-driven 30-minute podcasts hosted by PJ Di Giammarino, CEO of JWG and will include at least 2 subject matter experts. They will highlight key themes taken from 380,000 pages of regulatory publications across the globe and invite subject matter experts to put the listener on the inside track and hone in on the strategies they recommend.

Key topics will include the pre-COVID book of work on new, digitized controls and standards for:

  • Post GFC reforms including market effectiveness, transparency, surveillance, behaviour and risk management standards (e.g., MiFID III, MAR2, Market Data, ESG, Identifiers, Data standards)
  • New pure-digital regulatory agendas including: digital finance (CBDC, DeFI, Crypto), Digital integrity (DORA, Op resilience, Cyber, 3rd party risk, AI/Data ethics) and RegTech/Suptech (e.g., Digital Regulatory Reporting, CRR2 Art 430c, BIS innovation’s RIO)..

These podcasts are designed for the regulator, regulated, their suppliers and standard setters including C-level execs, policy formulators, standard setters, operations & data & technologists.

PJ Di Giammarino, Founder and CEO of JWG said “Until COVID, FS struggled with the ‘last mile’ problem. Now, customers, markets and suppliers are demanding that businesses go digital. At the same time, regulators and politicians are introducing RegTech and SupTech into the mix and a whole new era of standardisation is kicking off. All this means lots of change and even more opportunity. We put it all in perspective, identify key pain points for the system and how regulators, regulated and tech come to grips with this decades’ challenges”

Corrina Stokes, Head of Business Development at JWG said “A void for physical conferences and spotty coverage in online events makes this a perfect time for JWG to lead a strategic discussion about the implications of changes in political, regulatory or technology directions.”

RegCast represents the next phase for JWG’s engagement with its global community, which incorporates 127 countries and over 10,000 social media followers. The series of podcasts will allow it to continue to effectively leverage insight from its industry working groups, standards body discussions, special interest groups, LinkedIn communities and of course, RegDelta.

RegCast can be downloaded via the JWG website, Spotify, Amazon, Apple & Google.
