2022 RegTech agenda reloaded

1,000 visits to the JWG Annual Conference site are keeping the conversation alive. There is still time to listen to the all-star debate, participate in the debates and help set the 2022 RegTech agenda.

2021 Annual conference

On the 16th & 17th November, JWG held its 6th annual and its 1st virtual global conference, where we welcomed over 37 speakers from international firms such as Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, State Street and Wells Fargo, global regulars including the ADGM, ECB and FCA along with leading global academics and top technologists.

Our audience

We are delighted to announce that this event was our most global and biggest to date with a great balance amongst the audience. Of the 362 delegates, 45% of the audience came from senior decision makers within 57 global firms, 41% came from technologists keen to engage with the market, 9% came from regulars and trade associations, along with 3% from academia and think tanks.

Event takeaways

The goal of our event is as always, to encourage education and collaboration by discussing not only the regulatory agenda but to encourage ongoing strategic conversations on how firms, in conjunction with regulators and trade associations, can leverage RegTech. Our top-line conclusions:

  • The next wave of technology and data- centric regulatory obligations is forcing the market to move to digital controls
  • Obligations are crossing traditional boundaries as regulators take a truly systemic approach that makes compliance a verb, not function
  • RegTech/ SupTech business cases are being undersold as big challenges with the engine, not how much better the ride will be a small investment
  • Large firms and trade associations are starting to provide the vision for regulatory endorsement of new digital standards (e.g., CDM)
  • Strategic engagement between the supply chain, firms and regulators is required now more than ever.

Missed the live event – not a problem!

The JWG  all-star event has so far attracted over 1000 visits to the website which allows our network of regulators, the regulated and the top technologists who serve them, to continue and develop conversations, which started at the event, to continue well into 2022. If you are a SMEs, executive decision-maker or regulator who wishes to stay on top of regulatory changes you will gain strategic insight and take away practical recommendations for 2022, check out these panels and let us know which discussions you would like to engage in next year:
